Herons and Egrets Foraging on Vacant Marina Land (parcel 9u)
Over the last two months, residents have spotted Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets on the vacant land known as Parcel 9U. Yes, the parcel where LA County wants to put a 19-story hotel!
We ARE Marina del Rey's co-director, David Barish, snapped dozens of photos including a heron catching and feeding on a small rodent.
If you spot these birds here and even have a picture, please email us and let us know what day and time you saw either herons and/or egrets on this site. We want to preserve the entire parcel for a bird sanctuary instead of a 19-story hotel
