We ARE Marina del Rey is proud to announce that our Senator, Jenny Oropeza, has introduced Senate Concurent Resolution 56 (SCR 56) calling for a comprehensive update to the Marina del Rey Local Coastal Program (LCP) as recommended by the California Coastal Commission!
A comprehensive LCP update would include the consideration and mitigation of the cumulative environmental and social impacts of Los Angeles County’s piecemeal redevelopment of the Marina. And it would give our community the opportunity to further shape future development.
We hope that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will now genuinely work with our community to create a responsible master plan for redevelopment that honors the Marina’s mandate for public access and recreation. A plan that protects and enhances the beauty, integrity and financial potential of Marina del Rey.
